LILLABO is one of our most important toy families. It includes train tracks, trains, accessories, and a set of big, chunky cars designed for toddlers. The range has been part of our offer for many years and continues to be a strong performer.
The Challenge
How can we grow this beloved family of toys even further? LILLABO is already successful, but we wanted to explore new areas of play to make the range even stronger and more relevant for more children.
Our Solution
We saw great potential in expanding the car segment within LILLABO. Building on the success of the toddler cars, we developed a new collection of chunky cars for younger children, as well as a completely new concept: smaller cars in a “Hot Wheels” size for children aged 3 and up.
These new cars are designed so that all parts are compatible and interchangeable with existing LILLABO train items, creating a true LILLABO system that connects trains and cars in one world of play.
To make this new direction even more exciting, we also developed the LILLABO Garage, a large playset designed for the smaller cars. The garage includes an iconic LILLABO car and a helicopter, making it a perfect Christmas gift. It features a mechanical elevator, three floors, parking spaces (including an accessible one), a helipad, a car wash, a repair station, and an electric charging station.
All products were developed in close collaboration with children, who helped us understand what types of vehicles and play features they find most fun and engaging.
The result is a highly successful set of new products that has made the LILLABO family stronger than ever. It not only revitalizes the range but also opens the door to many more creative ideas and extensions around the world of LILLABO cars.
