One of the best toys for toddlers are building blocks, the amount of types of play and benefits that comes from a set of blocks is astronomical, we need to have a set in our range.
The Challenge
Many sets like this in the market, but the sets made out of wood can be expensive, how can we provide a set in wood with an affordable price?
Our Solution
Together with suppliers, we found the right mix between the amount of pieces in the set (that still fills like a good amount), the amount of colored pieces and the amount of different shapes to be produced to create one of the most affordable set of wood blocks in the market.
The blocks are suitable for children aged 18 months and over. They are light, 3 cm wide and fit comfortably in the hand and have rounded corners. They have been carefully tested and are safe.
Part of the UNDERHÅLLA series - educational and classic toy with which children learn the alphabet, the clock, counting and the connection between shapes and balance.
*As Product Developer, I started the exploration and lead the whole development team (Designer, Engineers, Sales, Sourcing, Project Controller) through the whole development and business process from identifying needs at the start, prototyping, testing, development on factory floor, creating the business case, and until reaching the sales floor worldwide.
